Food Policy Office Hours

The Food Policy Director holds virtual office hours on Tuesdays mornings. This is an opportunity to bring questions or feedback about DC food policy topics. The office hours are informal and the topics covered will depend on who joins each month. To receive the link, please register below.

At this time, the Food Policy Director and our small team do not have the capacity for one-on-one interviews for research projects or informational interviews, but we strongly encourage you to join for Office Hours to address any core questions and to meet others in the space.

Careers

The DC Office of Planning’s Food Policy Division and Food Policy Council do not have open positions at this time. Future opportunities will be posted here and sent through our listserv. To receive future emails, please sign up here.

Internships

The DC Office of Planning’s Food Policy Division and Food Policy Council are committed to supporting the next generation of diverse food system leaders. We work closely with trusted community, university, and national partners to host interns and fellows who are either paid or earning academic credits. We do not offer unpaid internships, as they perpetuate inequitable professional opportunities and reinforce systems of privilege and power. We encourage those interested in interning with us to consider paid internship and fellowship opportunities such as the Congressional Hunger Center’s Bill Emerson National Hunger Fellowship or the Zero Hunger Internship. Students should consider opportunities through their universities to gain course credits by working with us.

If you are interested in engaging with the Food Policy Council in other ways, we encourage you to participate in one of our five working groups. You can learn more about the upcoming working group meetings here.
