The overarching goals of the DC Food Policy Council are:
- Promote positive food policies in the District
- Attract new participants to the local food economy
- Assist individuals already participating in the local food economy
- Achieve the food goals identified in the Sustainable DC Plan:
- Increase agricultural land uses within the District
- Ensure universal access to secure, nutritious, and affordable food supplies
- Develop the food industry into a strong and viable economic sector
Building a more equitable, healthy, and sustainable District food system
